Need DMV Service? Auto Club's Escondido Branch Provides It

The Escondido office of the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has closed permanently until new office space can be acquired, according to state officials. The Automobile Club of Southern California is reminding motorists that local Auto Club branches can process vehicle-related DMV transactions for members at no additional charge.

The Auto Club’s Escondido branch at 800 La Terraza Blvd. is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Its member specialists can perform vehicle-related DMV services such as vehicle title transfers and registration renewals. Transactions related to driver licenses are not available at the Auto Club.

“We have offered DMV services in Escondido since we started serving the community with a local branch in 1939, and it’s been very popular with our members,” said Escondido Branch Manager Cynthia Casse. “We can provide license renewal tags for vehicles on the spot, usually with minimal wait times, and our members appreciate the convenience.”

In addition to DMV services, the Auto Club offers a full-service travel agency available to members and non-members, with members receiving special benefits and discounts on select travel packages, as well as complimentary travel publications such as maps and TourBooks™. Motorists can also visit the branch to shop for auto, homeowner, rental, life and many other types of products.

In addition, select Auto Club services are available 24/7 by visiting AAA.com, and members can always call the Auto Club at (800) 400-4AAA for roadside assistance.

The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest member of the AAA federation of motor clubs, has been serving Southern California since 1900. Today, the Auto Club’s members benefit by roadside assistance, insurance products and services, travel agency, financial products, automotive pricing and buying programs, automotive testing and analysis, trip planning services and highway and transportation safety programs.
