“The economy continues to be a moderating factor in gas prices and drivers are paying about $1.50 less than the record price set in June 2008,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “While the broader US economic picture remains muddled, the past week showed a large crude oil inventory draw down which some analysts see as a hopeful sign for the economy. We’ll have to see if gas prices are affected in the coming weeks.”
