“We just polled Auto Club members about the effects of high gas prices, and 70 percent say the prices are currently having a significant effect on their budgets,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “Within that 70 percent of Southern Californians, 80 percent have reduced their driving, 60 percent have cut back on restaurant meals and 49 percent are putting less money into savings. The poll found that gas prices are also affecting holiday shopping and travel plans.”
