(LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2, 2010) – Heading into Labor Day weekend, Southland travelers will be able to fill their tanks for under $3 a gallon at an increasing number of stations as fuel prices continue to drop for the third straight week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Weekend Gas Watch.

“With more than 90 percent of Southern California Labor Day travelers expected to go by car, it’s good news to see prices returning to the same level they were this time last year and only about 10 cents more per gallon than their lowest level of 2010,” said Auto Club spokesperson Jeffrey Spring. “The Auto Club is projecting an 11 percent increase in Labor Day travel compared to 2009 among Southern Californians, so gas stations may be busier this weekend.”
