CA GAS WATCH

Gas prices barely budged or dropped slightly over the last week after 2025’s first double-digit price hike, according to the Auto Club’s Weekend Gas Watch. The average price for self-serve regular gasoline in California is $4.92, which is one cent higher than a week ago and 46 cents lower than a year ago today. The average national price is $3.22, which is four cents lower than a week ago and 39 cents lower than on this date last year.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $4.89 per gallon, which is two cents less than last week and 45 cents less than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $4.87, which is two cents less than last week and 46 cents lower than this time last year.

On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.79, which is one cent less than last week and 51 cents lower than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $4.77, which is two cents less than last week and 48 cents lower than a year ago. In Bakersfield, the $4.76 average price is two cents higher than last week and 46 cents lower than a year ago today.

“Oil Price Information Service reports that despite ongoing planned and unplanned maintenance at Southern California refineries, wholesale gasoline prices dropped substantially on news that large supplies of imported gasoline are arriving soon,” said Auto Club spokesperson Doug Shupe. “At this time last year, local drivers were paying about 50 cents more per gallon.”

The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline. As of 9 a.m. on April 10, averages are:
