Southern California gas prices continued an unusual early-year pattern of stability for four consecutive weeks, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch. The retail statewide average is $3.30 a gallon for regular unleaded, which is one cent higher than last week.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.35 per gallon, which is unchanged for the second straight week, three cents higher than last month, and eight cents lower than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $3.31, which is also unchanged from last Thursday, three cents higher than last month, and nine cents lower than this time last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.36, which is one cent lower than last week, three cents higher than last month, and seven cents lower than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $3.26, which is the same as last week, four cents higher than last month, and ten cents lower than last year. In San Bernardino, the $3.30 average price is also the same as last week, four cents higher than last month, and eight cents lower than a year ago today.
“Los Angeles gas price averages are now actually three cents lower than on Jan. 1, and just a dime higher than their lowest levels of the year at the end of January,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring. “And local prices continue to stay lower than they were at this time last year.”
