Gasoline inventories at Southern California refineries rose in the past week, bringing pump price increases to a halt, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch. The retail statewide average is $3.63 a gallon for regular unleaded, which is one cent higher than last week.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.67 per gallon, which is unchanged from last week, four cents higher than last month, and 48 cents higher than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $3.64, one cent higher than last Thursday, four cents higher than last month, and 49 cents higher than this time last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.70, which is unchanged from last week, one cent lower than last month, and 50 cents higher than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $3.56, which is one cent higher than last week, three cents higher than last month, and 44 cents more than at this time last year.
“The worries about adequate supply of local summer-blend gasoline appear to be over with news from the California Energy Commission that Southern California gasoline inventory is now higher,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.
The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline. As of 9 a.m. on Sept. 13, averages are:
