CA GAS WATCH

Southern California drivers saw pump prices drop for the second week in a row, according to the Auto Club’s Weekend Gas Watch. The average price for self-serve regular gasoline in California is $4.81, which is six cents lower than a week ago and 29 cents lower than a year ago today. The average national price is $3.16, which is three cents lower than a week ago and 41 cents lower than on this date last year.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $4.77 per gallon, which is three cents lower than last week and 29 cents less than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $4.76, which is four cents lower than last week and 32 cents lower than this time last year.

On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.68, which is four cents less than last week and 44 cents lower than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $4.63, which is three cents less than last week and 34 cents lower than a year ago. In Bakersfield, the $4.70 average price is three cents lower than last week and 43 cents lower than a year ago today.

“Despite the increased travel over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, Southern California gas prices continued to fall as more supply became available,” said Auto Club spokesperson Doug Shupe. “Oil Price Information Service reports that additional imported gasoline may be arriving soon, which means price drops could continue.”

The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline. As of 9 a.m. on May 29, averages are:
