Southern California gas prices have dropped for a fourth straight week, bringing the cheapest pump prices in the region under $3.80 a gallon, according to the Auto Club’s Weekend Gas Watch. The average price for self-serve regular gasoline in California is $4.66, which is seven cents lower than a week ago and 22 cents lower than a year ago today. The average national price is $3.12, which is two cents lower than a week ago and 33 cents lower than on this date last year.
The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $4.65 per gallon, which is six cents lower than last week and 20 cents less than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $4.66, which is five cents lower than last week and 21 cents lower than this time last year.
On the Central Coast, the average price is $4.59, which is three cents less than last week and 38 cents lower than last year. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $4.47, which is seven cents less than last week and 29 cents lower than a year ago. In Bakersfield, the $4.61 average price is five cents lower than last week and 36 cents lower than a year ago today.
“Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) and the Energy Information Administration continue to report high refinery utilization rates on the West Coast, indicating that they are maximizing production of gasoline and other fuels,” said Auto Club spokesperson Doug Shupe. “The latest price reductions have brought pump prices within about 30 cents of their lowest level of 2025, which was at the start of the year.”
