AAA Poll Lists Anaheim As A Top Summer Spot For U.S. Tourists

(LOS ANGELES – April 5, 2012) – A new AAA Travel survey and sales data from AAA shows that among bookings made so far for summer vacation, Anaheim is the top California destination for AAA members.

High gas prices have been on the mind of many consumers, especially in Southern California where prices are among the highest in the U.S. However, the Automobile Club of Southern California surveyed its members about their spring break plans and found that a slightly higher percentage of them were planning to take a March/April trip this year compared to 2011.

 

Among more than 600 polled Southern California members, 57 percent planned at least one trip in March or April, compared to 55 percent in 2011.

 

Related to the announcement of Anaheim as a top summer destination, many Disneyland® Resort passes are now available at Auto Club branches. “Just in time for spring break and summer travel in response to huge member demand, we will be selling Disneyland® Resort theme park tickets at special AAA member prices in the branches for single-day, multi-day and Annual Passports,” said  Pamela Shepherd, the Auto Club’s vice president for branch operations. 

 

In addition to Disneyland® Resort, Auto Club branches sell discount tickets to members for Universal Studios Hollywood^SM, SeaWorld® San Diego, LEGOLAND^® California Resort, Aquarium of the Pacific® in Long Beach, San Diego Zoo, and San Diego Zoo Safari Park. All tickets sold in branches are a bigger savings for members than AAA discount tickets purchased online or at the attraction’s main gate.

The 2012 Auto Club Spring Break poll was conducted from Feb. 13 to Feb. 23 and surveyed 623 Auto Club members. It has a margin of error of +/-3.9 percent.
