Travel

(LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17, 2007) — The Automobile Club of Southern California's newest laminated map highlights the best that Kauai offers to travelers visiting some of the world's best beaches, restaurants, retail shops and numerous movie locations shot throughout the Garden Isle.

The laminated map titled "Kauai GreatestHitsTM is available at the Auto Club's 77 offices and specialty map retailers and offers vacationers a wide variety of activities, including visits and/or fly overs via helicopter to the world-famous Napili Coast and Waimea Canyon, in addition to the rainiest spot on Earth, Wai 'ale' ale.

Detailed maps and reviews by Auto Club travel writers take the guesswork out of visiting the emerald of the Hawaiian island chain. Restaurants ranging from Duke's Canoe Club to the roadside Shrimp Station are described on the Kauai GreatestHitsTM map. Auto Club travel writer Eli Ellison also recommends dropping by Brick Oven Pizza, a successful pizzeria opened in 1977.

The new guide offers several maps of the different areas of the island, many of which provide one-of-a-kind adventures.

"The newest map in our 'best of' series reveals the top things to see and do on the island of Kauai," said Auto Club Travel Products Manager, John Austerman. "We recommend travelers visit Larsen's Beach, take a cruise from the North Shore, and experience Kipu Falls and contrast that with a visit to the drier but still beautiful West Side."

"We packed this map with a lot of information. It's more like a guidebook, but priced like a map," said Austerman. "The convenient size makes it really easy to toss in a suitcase for a trip, or carry and use."

Each map in the GreatestHitsTM series is $4.95 for Auto Club members and $8.95 for the public. Other titles include Alaska Inside Passage, California Highway 1, Orlando, Route 66, and Santa Fe & Taos.
