Auto Club Offices Celebrate AAA '50 Million' Milestone With Member Appreciation Days

Corporate Information, Travel

Free Passport Photos Offered to Members

(LOS ANGELES, March 1, 2007) – The Automobile Club of Southern California will host "Member Appreciation Days" on March 14 and 15 at each of its offices to thank members for their loyalty to AAA, an organization that now serves 50 million members across North America and nearly six million in Southern California.

Auto Club members are invited to visit any of the 75 Auto Club offices throughout Southern California during normal business hours to join the celebration, meet the Auto Club team, and enter a sweepstakes to win cruise and vacation packages, hotel stays, a Sirius radio system, and many other prizes. Members who need to obtain or renew their passports can get free passport pictures on those days (normally, members pay $8 for passport photos). Non-members can have passport photos taken for $15. Also, those who purchase a gift membership or add a family member on to their membership will receive a free gift.

"Reaching 50 million members is a very exciting milestone for us, and we look forward to celebrating that achievement with those who made it possible — our loyal members," said Bob Kane, the Auto Club's vice president for district office operations. "We hope our members take advantage of the free passport photos on those days, especially because of the new Transportation Security Administration regulation requiring all air passengers to carry a valid passport to re-enter the United States from countries that had not previously required one, such as Mexico and Caribbean nations. Since passports can take two months or more to process, travelers should make sure they have a valid one now if they're planning to take an overseas trip this summer."

AAA is the largest paid-membership organization in North America. In Southern California, one in every two households has an Auto Club membership.

The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest member of the AAA federation of motor clubs, has been serving Southern California since 1900. Today, the Auto Club's members benefit by roadside assistance, insurance products and services, travel agency, financial products, automotive pricing and buying programs, automotive testing and analysis, trip planning services and highway and transportation safety programs. Information about these products and services is available on the Auto Club's Web site at www.AAA.com.
