Don’t Be Scared! Auto Club Says: Celebrate Halloween With a Family Cruise

Travel

(LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14, 2006) — Families can combine the fun of costumes and trick-or-treating with the togetherness of a vacation getaway in October by booking a “Frightfully Fun” Carnival Cruise through the Automobile Club of Southern California.

All Carnival “Fun Ship” Cruises departing between Oct. 9 and Oct. 31 will feature costumed crew members and a variety of Halloween-themed activities including scary movie screenings, a shipboard costume contest and parade, and trick-or-treating for young passengers. All passengers are invited to bring their own costumes aboard to participate in the festivities.

“Halloween has grown as a holiday over the years, and now many families annually plan trips to theme parks, pumpkin patches or haunted houses in October,” said Diana Meinhold, the Auto Club’s vice president for travel products and services. “A Halloween cruise is a great new option for families to spend the holiday together, and can be a better value than other getaways because the price includes meals, lodging, travel and activities onboard.”

Auto Club members booking their cruise through the Auto Club’s AAA Travel Agency will receive a complimentary two-category upgrade on their cabin, subject to certain terms and availability. Both members and non-members can use AAA Travel to book cruises and other travel, but members receive special benefits and discounts on selected travel packages.

Carnival “Fun Ship” cruises offer a variety of destinations and packages. Prices available include three- or four-day weekends to Mexico for as little as $319 per person, double occupancy, and a seven-day Mexico cruise for as little as $599.
