Auto Club: Key Vacation Planning Tool 2006 TourBook® Now Available at Auto Club Offices and Online

Travel

(Los Angeles, March 13, 2006) — AAA and the Automobile Club of Southern California's 2006 edition of the Southern California & Las Vegas TourBook is now available at local offices.

The key vacation planning book is one of 26 regional guides published in the annually updated series. The guides are available free and exclusively to AAA/CAA members, in print as well as a searchable format on aaa.com that includes online bookings.

TourBook guides provide in-depth travel information and property listings for destinations across the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. The listings include more than 32,000 lodgings, 23,000 Approved restaurants, and 15,000 Approved attractions.

To provide members with complete travel planning assistance, the searchable aaa.com TourBook listings are integrated with additional travel resources and tools, including the aaa.com web site, TripTik, Calendar of Events and online hotel reservations.

The AAA Diamond ratings for hotels and restaurants throughout North America are published in the AAA TourBook guides. The listings also appear online at aaa.com in the Online TourBook, and as part of Internet TripTik and AAAmaps.com, AAA's online maps and trip planning tools.

To be listed in print and online, properties must maintain the strict quality criteria required to be AAA Approved. Approved hotels and restaurants receive a rating of one to five Diamonds that help members choose places that are well matched to their expectations.

"The AAA ratings programs have been in place since 1937 and are unbiased and consistent," said the Auto Club's Approved Accommodations Manager Chuck Smith. "The long-standing objective methods help travelers sift through sometimes confusing multiple ratings systems and online anecdotal reviews."

The Automobile Club of Southern California, the largest AAA affiliate, has served members since 1900. Today, Auto Club members benefit by the organization's roadside assistance, financial products, travel agency and trip planning services, highway and transportation safety programs, insurance products and services and automotive pricing and buying programs. Information about these products and services is available at www.aaa.com.
