Auto Club Offers Online Traffic School Course

(LOS ANGELES, Calif., May 12, 2005) — For the first time, the Automobile Club of Southern California is offering an online traffic school course to motorists in 11 Southern California counties through the AAA preferred provider, I Drive Safely™.

The online course satisfies the California court requirement for ticket dismissal for those who have received a moving violation traffic ticket and have not attended a traffic school course in the preceding 18 months, according to the Auto Club's Manager of Driver Services Kathy Downing.

The online course is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in English and in Spanish. The course is self-paced and members can log in as many times as they need to, said Downing. A certificate showing completion of the course is issued the same day the course is finished, she added.

"The course is approved by the courts and a convenient alternative to a classroom program," said Downing. "I Drive Safely™ also offers customer support through e-mail, chat or phone at all times for the online program."

The course is available for tickets received in Imperial, Kern, Los Angeles, Mono, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties. The online course is not available for tickets received in Orange and Ventura counties. (The online traffic school course is related to the county in which the motorist received the traffic ticket, not where they reside and in-person tests may be required in some counties.)

To take the course, go to Auto Club members will receive a 10% discount off the regular price of $24.95. Non-members may also take the course at full price, or become members and receive the discounted price.
