Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon has recently been rated as a AAA Four Diamond® hotel by the Automobile Club of Southern California.  This distinction reflects the hotel’s luxury hospitality in San Diego, its customer service and other qualities that meet the AAA rating. California has the most AAA Four Diamond hotels (176).

The coveted AAA Four Diamond Award is presented to hotel general managers and restaurant executive chefs to recognize the award-winning properties, which account for 6.3 percent of 27,000 hotels and restaurants inspected by AAA and the Auto Club, the nation’s largest AAA club.

“To reach the exceptional standards required for the AAA Four Diamond rating is an outstanding achievement,” said the Auto Club’s Approved Accommodations Supervisor Patricia Marenco. “AAA Four Diamond establishments are attentive to guests needs and consistently deliver memorable travel experiences.”

Nestled in the Dehesa Valley hills, the casino resort is just 30 minutes from downtown San Diego. A community landmark, Sycuan Casino Resort features a recently completed $260 million expansion, which includes a 12-story hotel tower, an expansive gaming floor, meeting and event space, a full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, business center, gardens and a pool with a lazy river and swim up bar. The hotel features 302 guest rooms, including 57 luxury suites.  Luxury amenities enhance each guest’s stay, including concierge, multilingual staff, valet dry cleaning and laundry services and gift shop. The property is located at 5469 Casino Way, El Cajon.

“The AAA rating system has set the standard in hospitality for several decades,” said John Dinius, general manager at Sycuan Casino Resort. “Receiving the AAA Four Diamond rating for our new hotel is an incredible honor and we are thrilled to be recognized for our artistic and detailed design, variety of new amenities and superior level of guest service.”

AAA’s Diamond rating program is the only hotel review system in the nation that uses specially trained full-time AAA inspectors, field representatives who collectively visit thousands of establishments every week. As part of AAA’s network, the Auto Club’s own inspectors review Southern California establishments without prior notification using objective rating procedures.

The AAA Diamond ratings provide consumers with the broadest coverage of any rating system, geographically and by number of properties rated, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Inspectors review and rate exterior, grounds and public areas, room décor, ambiance and amenities, guest rooms, bathrooms, housekeeping and maintenance, management and staff and guest services. Properties that meet all requirements receive a one to five Diamond rating.

To achieve the AAA Four Diamond rating, the lodging establishments must be “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail,” according the AAA Diamond rating guidelines.

Travelers can find Diamond Rated establishments in AAA trip planning products: the AAA Mobile® app for tablets and smartphones, the desktop and mobile versions of the TripTik® Travel Planner  online mapping and routing tool, searchable Travel Guides on AAA.com and AAA TourBook® guides available to members at AAA/CAA offices.
