New AAA Approved Auto Repair Service Standards to Benefit Members

Automotive
(LOS ANGELES, March 30, 2012) — The Automobile Club of Southern California has announced new service standards that enhance the AAA Approved Auto Repair Program. The new service standards mean that members receive even more value from their membership. Effective Sunday, April 1 warranty coverage at Southern California AAA Approved Auto Repair locations will be doubled to 24-months/24,000 miles on labor and parts for AAA members.

This warranty coverage is one of the most comprehensive warranty coverage periods in the automotive industry, especially offered under the umbrella of a large repair network, according to the Auto Club.  No other larger group or program offers greater repair warranty protection.

Other new 2012 service enhancements now in effect include AAA Priority Service for AAA members’ vehicles that are towed in, Show Your Card & Save® participation at all AAA Approved Auto Repair (AAR) facilities that includes a 10 percent discount on regularly priced parts and labor up to $50 upon AAA member request, and an expanded free AAA 40-pt. maintenance inspection with a paid service at an AAR facility.  The expanded inspection includes a comprehensive battery test and front and rear brake inspection and is valued at a minimum of $80.

AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities meet the Auto Club's strict AAA Approved Auto Repair Program criteria for technician certification and customer satisfaction. Approved facilities also offer a wide range of automotive services and are equipped with high-tech equipment needed to repair today's sophisticated vehicles.

“The new service enhancements in the AAR program provide added peace of mind for our members and the public when maintenance and repairs are completed on their vehicle,” said the Auto Club’s Approved Auto Repair Program Development Manager Dave Skaien.  “The AAA Approved Auto Repair program examines all aspects of a repair facility’s operation and awards approval to only the best facilities in the business. These facilities have signs and posters displayed to indicate they are AAA approved.”

Any motorist can look to the Auto Club's Approved Auto Repair logo as an assurance of the facility's reliability, but Auto Club members get extra benefits from approved facilities.  A listing of more than 500 approved facilities is at AAA.com/Auto Repair.  Auto Club members also get guaranteed written estimates, return of replaced parts on request and Auto Club-mediated repair dispute resolution services.
