Auto Club-Sponsored Travel Show in Long Beach Offers Prizes, Discounts, Information For Vacation Planning

(LONG BEACH, Jan. 23, 2008) The Automobile Club of Southern California will be a presenting sponsor of the Los Angeles Times Travel & Adventure Show featuring exclusive deals on U.S. and international trips on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Long Beach Convention Center. Auto Club members who RSVP to attend by Feb. 8 can receive a coupon giving them $2 off the $10 admission fee.

The AAA Travel section of the show will feature more than a dozen tour, cruise and other travel providers, as well as experienced and knowledgeable AAA Travel agents. Consumers who book their trips at the show will receive special showtime offers providing discounts, upgrades or credits on their travel, as well as a complimentary piece of Samsonite luggage with a minimum purchase. Auto Club members qualify for additional member benefits on select travel packages.

Travelers can prepare for their journeys by visiting the show to obtain passport photos and applications, browse through the AAA BookStore’s travel publications, watch luggage packing demonstrations, and enjoy live presentations from travel providers. Renowned world traveler and Westways Magazine Travel Editor Elizabeth Harryman will offer travel tips and experiences with her husband and travel partner, Paul Lasley.

While attending the show, travelers can enter a drawing (no purchase necessary) to win a seven-day Mexico cruise for two from Holland America.

“January and February are the top two months for our members to begin planning their summer vacations and other trips throughout the year,” said Diana Meinhold, the Auto Club’s vice president for travel products and services. “The AAA Travel section of the Travel & Adventure Show will give consumers an in-depth look at a wide variety of trips as well as access to special benefits and discounts if they book their vacations at the show.”
