Local gas prices dropped slightly in almost all areas over the past week, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California's Weekend Gas Watch. The retail statewide average is $3.09 a gallon for regular unleaded, unchanged from a week ago.

The average price of self-serve regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area is $3.04 per gallon, which is three cents below last week, four cents higher than last month, and 17 cents higher than last year. In San Diego, the average price is $3.01, which two cents lower than last week, three cents higher than last month, and 17 cents more than this time last year. On the Central Coast, the average price is $3.07, a penny less than last week, two cents higher than last month, and 19 cents higher than last year. In the Inland Empire, the average per-gallon price is $2.99, which is down three cents from last week, two cents more than last month, and 17 cents more than last year.

“Pump prices are down throughout the state, which is a possible indicator that any supply worries caused by refinery outages are easing,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring.  “Oil prices have also dropped in the last two weeks and if that trend holds steady or accelerates, it’s possible that drivers could see more gas price declines.”

The Weekend Gas Watch monitors the average price of gasoline. As of 9 a.m. on June 8, averages are:
