Auto Club Driving School Now Accepting Enrollments for Classes in Thousand Oaks

The Automobile Club of Southern California is now registering students for its teen driving school classes in Thousand Oaks.
Auto Club Driving School classes are also available in Anaheim, Anaheim Hills, Arcadia, Burbank, Costa Mesa, Diamond Bar, El Monte, Encino, Escondido, Grossmont, Long Beach, Murrieta, Rancho Santa Margarita, Redlands, Riverside, Santa Clarita, San Diego, Santa Monica and Torrance. A variety of training options are available at all 19 sites.
The driving school uses a curriculum based on research of teen driving crashes.  The program is taught by state-licensed instructors who are trained by the Auto Club.  The curriculum is focused on safety and student participation with core elements designed to address the top four causes of teen collisions.  Parents and teens attend a one-hour orientation together on the first night of class. After that, students continue attending class, and parents stay tuned in through feedback and coaching after each in-car lesson.
“The Auto Club offers the driver education programs to help parents and teens successfully navigate the training required for a provisional license and to help parents and teens understand and fulfill California’s Graduated Driver Licensing law requirements,” said Melissa Vega, manager of the Auto Club’s Driver Services.  “Many parents tell us they’re learning right along with their kids.”
Students who successfully complete one of the Auto Club Driving School programs also receive a free dependent associate Auto Club membership and may qualify for a car insurance discount when added to an auto insurance policy through the Auto Club’s affiliated insurance company.  Since 2000, more than 40,000 students have been trained by the Auto Club.
