In time for summer travelers, AAA members who visit Hawaii can save 10 cents off per gallon with cash purchases of gasoline and diesel fuel at 42 Aloha Petroleum/Aloha Island Mart stations on Maui, Oahu and the Big Island just by showing their AAA card to the cashier. The gas and diesel fuel discount on cash purchases will be offered from July 1 through Aug. 31.
Throughout the year, AAA members also can save 20 percent on fountain and coffee drinks at all Aloha Island Marts and they may purchase a 44-oz. fountain drink or a 16-oz. coffee for $1.09.
“This is a timely offer for AAA members since retail gas prices in Hawaii are among the highest of any state and have had an impact on motorists’ budgets,” said the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Member Value Programs Manager Denise Bialek. “To obtain the discount and save money at the pump instantly, AAA members need only show their membership card when they make their gas purchase using cash.”
The discount offer is not valid at Aloha-branded 7-Eleven locations and more information about all discounts can be found at aaa.com/discounts.
The Automobile Club of Southern California offers these additional tips to help travelers save while on vacation:
- Plan out your route and virtually shop for the best gas prices at the same time with the free AAA TripTik Mobile app for iPhone, iPad or Android devices, available at AAA.com/mobile. The GPS-based app provides gas station locations and prices, as well as AAA diamond-rated lodgings, attractions and locations offering AAA discounts.
- To make sure you’re not overpaying for gas, visit fuelgaugereport.aaa.com to find real-time gas price averages for the area in which you are traveling, and aim to find stations below that average price.
- Modify your driving style; go easy on the gas pedal and gently on the brake pedal. Changing your driving style can save up to 50 percent in fuel use.
