(CAMARILLO, Nov. 4, 2008) - Travel consumers can learn more about upcoming cruises, tours and travel packages, information about medical precautions for safe traveling, passport applications and the latest in travel security at a free travel expo by AAA Travel's Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and Ventura Automobile Club of Southern California offices.
The 2nd Annual AAA Travel Expo will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Pleasant Valley Park & Recreation Center, 1605 E. Burnley St. Several travel prizes will be offered by Carnival Cruise, El Monte RV, Pleasant Holidays and Resort Quest.
"This is an ideal opportunity for those who have been thinking about a cruise or vacation to gather information and speak with the representatives from the different tours and cruise lines that are AAA preferred vendors," said Val Ringor, Camarillo district office manager for the Auto Club.
Passport application forms will be available at the event. Featured speakers will be Dr. Kurt Cook, deputy health officer for Ventura County Public Health, discussing medical precautions for traveling.
Expected at the show will be representatives from Brendan, Carnival Cruises, Club Med, Cunard, Crystal Cruises, Disney, El Monte RV, Gadabout, Grand Canyon Railway, General Tours, Hawaii World, Hertz, Insight Vacations, Holland America, Lake Powell Houseboats, Oceana, Pleasant Holidays, Princess Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Resort Request, Sandals Resort, Tauck, Trafalgar, and Uniworld.
At the local offices, Auto Club members and the public can use AAA Travel agency services to plan tours and cruises, make worldwide and domestic airline reservations, book hotels and car rentals and obtain rail tickets and foreign currency. International travel services include passport, visa and customs information; low-cost passport photos; International Driver's Permits and Mexico automobile insurance. Members receive special travel benefits and discounts, including complimentary TourBooks, Trip Tiks, and maps for auto travel.
