(LOS ANGELES, Feb. 26, 2008) – The Automobile Club of Southern California’s Show Your Card and Save discount program continues to grow in popularity with members, according to a report issued today by AAA.
In 2007, the Auto Club’s six million members were among the 51 million AAA members throughout North America to obtain $1.192 billion in member discounts through Show Your Card and Save. The Auto Club is the largest member of the AAA federation.
Auto Club members saved with over 125 participating businesses on hotels, restaurants, live entertainment, sports, home electronics installation, and much more.
With the AAA Show Your Card & Save discount program, savings are available on products and services at over 160,000 locations across the country and throughout the world.
AAA members saved $91 million more than in 2006, when members saved $1.101 billion. When surveyed, AAA members reported saving an average of $98 over the past year, an increase of 13 percent over 2006. In 2007, AAA began using a more comprehensive system of tracking member savings, which revealed that AAA members have been saving more money than previously reported.
The Auto Club and AAA are well known for providing travel-related member discounts and benefits for items such as hotel rooms and car rentals. But over the past several years, the Auto Club and AAA also have developed relationships and negotiated discounts with high-quality service and product providers in a variety of industries.
Both local merchants and international brand partners participate in the Show Your Card & Save program. In 2007, popular brands such as 24-Hour Fitness, Motorola, LA Galaxy and The UPS Store joined the ever-expanding list of over 5,000 local, national and international Show Your Card & Save partners.
