Travel

(LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1, 2005) — The Automobile Club of Southern California has published a new laminated guide map highlighting the attractions that make Orlando, FL a top vacation destination for American families.

The laminated “Orlando GreatestHitsTM Map” is available at Auto Club offices and offers vacationers easy-to-read maps of Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando’s downtown and surrounding areas. It also showcases a wide variety of restaurants, family attractions and tours, as well as nightlife hot spots.

“The map is easy to tuck into your backpack or jacket pocket as you’re heading out to enjoy a day at one of the multiple amusement parks in the area, or to explore local attractions like Gatorland or the nearby Kennedy Space Center,” said Auto Club Editorial Director John Austerman. “Travelers also will appreciate the tips and map directions for local shopping and restaurants.”

The map describes must-see highlights for each of Orlando’s major theme parks, devotes an entire side to Walt Disney World Resort and recommends dining spots for many parks. In addition, the map provides information about area museums, tours and other family-friendly activity spots.

Numerous restaurants ranging from upscale to casual are highlighted, including Roy’s Orlando and the world’s largest “entertainment” McDonald’s featuring 60 video arcade games and an extra-large kids’ play area.

Each map in the Auto Club’s GreatestHits series is $4.95 for AAA members and $7.95 for the public. Other titles include Route 66, California Missions, Hollywood, San Antonio, Santa Fe and Taos, Alaska’s Inside Passage and Boston.
