Auto Club: Mature Driver Classes Now Offered at Rancho Santa Margarita Toyota Dealership Office

(RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Oct. 18, 2005) — Safe driving classes for mature motorists will be held at Rancho Santa Margarita Toyota, where the Automobile Club of Southern California has a new local office. The classes are open to the public as well as Auto Club members.

The one-day classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 at the office located inside the Toyota dealership at 22722 Avenida Empresa.

Called the "Mature Driver Improvement Course," the class is designed for those 55 and older who want to brush up on their driving knowledge. Those completing the course will receive a DMV certificate of completion that may make them eligible for an automobile insurance discount.

The eight-hour course covers techniques for defensive driving, the importance of good visual habits, tailgating, driver emergencies, how some medications effect driving and tips to compensate for the effects of aging.

A driving instructor from the Auto Club leads the 25-member class using a workbook and a series of videos. Cost is $21 and pre-enrollment is required.

To enroll, visit or call any Auto Club office to obtain an enrollment form, or go the Auto Club web site, and click on the Automotive Services page to download the form to send with a check. A class enrollment slip will be returned by mail.

The Auto Club Rancho Santa Margarita Toyota office opened earlier this year inside the dealership and offers insurance and AAA Travel services.
